Solar battery and EV charger Adelaide wide, from one licensed team

Most homes end up with three different contractors for solar, storage and car charging, and three sets of warranties that point at each other when something fails. We install solar battery and EV charger Adelaide wide as a single system, designed together and fitted by our own SAA-accredited electricians.

Equipment we install

Tier 1 panels, inverters and storage from manufacturers that still answer the phone in ten years. The exact brand on your quote depends on your roof, your load and what is in stock, and it is named on the quote rather than left vague.

What solar battery and EV charger Adelaide installs cover

Three separate services, quoted and installed by the same team. You can take one, two or all three, and the system is designed so adding the next one later does not mean undoing the last. A solar battery and EV charger Adelaide install is usually staged this way rather than done all at once, and staging it only works if the first stage was wired with the next one in mind.

01Service one

Solar panel installation

Systems are sized off your actual electricity bill and your roof, not off a package price. We look at how much you use after dark, which direction your roof faces, what shading you get through the day, and whether your switchboard and main fuse can take the inverter before anything is quoted.

Every system we install is wired battery-ready, even when you are not adding storage now. Retrofitting a battery to a system that was not planned for one is where most of the unexpected cost appears later.

  • Tier 1 panels with a 25-year performance warranty
  • Single and three-phase inverter installs
  • Federal STC rebate applied upfront, not claimed back
  • Battery-ready wiring included as standard
  • Switchboard assessment before quoting, not after
  • Grid application with SA Power Networks handled by us
02Service two

Home battery storage

Feed-in tariffs in South Australia have fallen to a few cents, so exporting your daytime surplus is no longer where the value sits. Storing it and using it through the evening peak is. The question is not whether a battery works, it is how many kilowatt-hours you actually use between sunset and bedtime.

We size storage around that evening load. An oversized battery you never empty is money sitting on a wall, and an undersized one sends you back to the grid at the worst time of day.

  • Sized to your evening load, read off your usage data
  • Stackable systems so capacity can be added later
  • Federal battery rebate applied at quote stage
  • Blackout backup circuits where the hardware supports it
  • Retrofit to existing solar, any brand of inverter
  • Monitoring set up and explained before we leave
03Service three

EV charger installation

A wall charger is an electrical job before it is an EV job. It needs a dedicated circuit, the right cable run and protection, and a switchboard with the spare capacity to carry it alongside everything else in the house. That is the part a general handyman cannot sign off, and the part our licensed electricians do every week.

If you already have solar, the charger should know about it. A solar-aware charger can hold off until your panels are producing surplus and then charge the car on that surplus rather than on grid power, which is the difference between charging cheaply and charging at peak rates.

  • Single-phase and three-phase charger installation
  • Solar-aware charging so the car runs on your surplus
  • Dedicated circuit, correct protection, compliant cable run
  • Switchboard capacity check before the charger is specified
  • Load management where the supply will not carry full output
  • Installed with solar and battery or as a standalone job

Charger make and model are confirmed at the site visit, once we have seen your switchboard, your supply and how far the run is to where you park.

Why solar battery and EV charger Adelaide installs belong with one team

These three jobs all terminate at the same switchboard. Splitting them across contractors is where capacity clashes, mismatched protection and warranty arguments come from, and it is the most common reason a solar battery and EV charger Adelaide project costs more than it needed to.

⚙

One design, not three

Panels, inverter, battery and charger are specified against the same switchboard and the same supply. Nothing is sized in isolation and found to clash on install day.

⚑

One point of warranty

When three contractors do three jobs, a fault becomes an argument about whose fault it is. One installer means one number to call.

Frequently asked questions

Q

Can you install solar, a battery and an EV charger at the same time?

Yes, and it is the cheaper way to do it. One site visit, one switchboard assessment and one install means you are not paying twice for access, scaffolding or board work. It also means the inverter, battery and charger are specified to work together rather than being bolted on afterwards.

Q

Do I need solar before I can get an EV charger installed?

No. An EV charger is a standalone electrical installation and we fit them to homes with no solar at all. Having solar changes what the charger can do, because a solar-aware charger can wait for surplus generation and charge the car on that instead of grid power, but it is not a requirement.

Q

Will my switchboard handle an EV charger?

That is exactly what we check at the site visit. Many older Adelaide homes have boards without the spare capacity or the protection a dedicated charger circuit needs. Where the supply will not carry full charger output alongside everything else, load management can be fitted so the charger backs off instead of tripping the house.

Q

Can you add a battery to solar that someone else installed?

In most cases yes, regardless of which brand of inverter is on the wall. We check the existing system first, because the answer depends on the inverter, the age of the install and how the original was wired. Some systems take a battery cleanly and some need an additional inverter.

Q

Do you handle the rebates and the grid application?

Yes. The federal STC rebate for solar and the federal battery rebate are applied to your quote upfront, so the price you see is the price you pay rather than something you claim back later. We also lodge the connection application with SA Power Networks.

Q

How long does an installation take?

A typical home solar install is a single day. Adding a battery usually extends it into a second day. An EV charger on its own is normally a half-day job, depending on how far the cable has to run from the switchboard to where you park. A full solar battery and EV charger Adelaide install done in one go is normally two days on site.

Q

Are your electricians subcontracted?

No. The people who quote the job are the people who install it. That matters most when something needs to be checked years later, because the person who comes back already knows how your system was wired.

Q

Do you cover my area for all three services?

We install solar battery and EV charger Adelaide wide, from the northern suburbs through the metro area and out to the surrounding regions. The suburb list above covers where we work most often, and we travel beyond it regularly.
